Victoria Falls is situated on the Zambezi river that borders both Zambia and Zimbabwe. It is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Honestly, I felt such an intense overwhelm seeing Victoria Falls which I have done at the seeing other natural and new modern wonders of the world. The grandeur of seeing Victoria Falls sent chills down my spine. It was truly spectacular, breathtaking, loud, and had such a magical and spiritual feel to it. My wish for is all my fellow Bucket Lister’s to travel to Africa and definitely tick off seeing Vitoria Falls.
BUT… I am spewing because one of the main reasons I wanted to go to Victoria Falls was to swim in the Devils Pool. Check out Devil’s Pool here!!
Sounds pretty hard-core, doesn’t it? Well, after seeing the non-stop heaviness of the Falls live, I’m not as brave as I first was. Either way, it still remains on the Bucket List.
REMINDER: If you are going to go somewhere far, far away & you really, really want to tick something off that could be popular with the rest of the world… BOOK IT IN ADVANCE!
As I said in my video here and in the famous words of Arnold Swartzenegger, “I’ll be back!” Being a stubborn Taurean with insatiable F.O.M.O. (Fear Of Missing Out), I can’t let it go. With some speaking planned for Africa next year, the likelihood of me swimming in the Devils Pool coming to fruition is high.
Again though… BOOK IN ADVANCE! Learn from my rookie mistakes.
However, back to Victoria Falls… Experiencing this amazing natural wonder of the world was incredibly special for me as well as for my parents and my partner. It was such a hot day when we were there, and we all really welcomed the soft mist you felt when you walked closer to the Falls. The power of the falls is enormous, and as you will see and hear in my video’s the “roar” of the falls.
Crossing the border from Zambia into Zimbabwe you will need to be aware of buying a Visa. We all paid $50 US for our Visa’s and the cost of getting into Victoria Falls was another $30 US each – this does vary depending on your nationality! Believe me, I tried using my best South African accent but was left red-faced when they asked for my driver’s license haha.
One of my missions is to tick off seeing and exploring every country on earth. Along with that ticking off along the way seeing all of the wonders of the world both natural and modern.
The seven natural wonders of the world are:
I have ticked off four of the seven listed, still have The Harbour at Rio De Janerio, Nothern Lights which has been on my Bucket List for the last nine years, and the Paricutin Volcano.
The seven modern wonders of the world are:
I have ticked off four of the seven listed ….. Now to tick off the Christ the Redeemer Statue, Petra in Jordan, and the Colosseum in Italy!!
Boom, life is too short not to live your Bucket List!! <3 Trav
